Chesapeake City property tax rate:
.4317¢ per $100 of the assessed value of the property. Property taxes are collected by the Cecil County Treasurer’s Office.
Water and Sewer Billing Rates(effective April 2010)
In Town Residential Dwelling: base rate of $165 per quarter, plus $.0060 per gallon of water.
In Town Multi-Dwelling: base rate of $165 per quarter per each dwelling unit, plus $.0060 per gallon of water.
In Town Commercial: base rate of $258 per quarter (which includes the first 10,000 gallons) plus $.01775 per each additional gallon of water.
Out of Town Residential Dwelling: Base rate of $247.50 per quarter per dwelling unit and $.0090 per each gallon of water.
Out of Town Commercial: 1.75 times the base rate and per gallon rate of Commercial – in Town.
Water Only: Water only service is on-half (1/2) the applicable In-Town or Out-of-Town rent/rate for water and sewer described above.
Sewer Only: Sewer only service is calculated at the usage rate of one-half (½) the average household usage of 250 gallons per day times the applicable In-Town or Out-of-Town rent/rate for water and sewer described above.
Church Facilities and Lodges: $.0050 per gallon of water - no base charge
The above rates and fees are in addition to the Bay Restoration Fee of $7.50 per quarter
The above modified Water and Sewer rates shall become effective with the commencement of the fourth billing quarter in FY 2009 for the months of April, May and June 2010.
